CitedTax
Terms of service

The CitedTax terms, in plain English.

Version 2026-10-09, effective 9 October 2026. A firm administrator accepts these terms in the workspace before the firm's first purchase, and again whenever they change in substance.

  1. 1. What CitedTax is

CitedTax is a research and drafting tool for licensed tax professionals, operated by The Aslan Group LLC. It reads the documents your firm uploads, researches them against primary authority, and produces working papers, memos and draft letters for a professional reader.

CitedTax is not tax, legal or accounting advice. Using it creates no client, advisory or fiduciary relationship between your firm, your clients and CitedTax or The Aslan Group LLC.

  2. 2. Professional responsibility

Every output is a draft prepared for your review. The reviewing professional at your firm validates, approves and takes responsibility for anything that reaches a client, a return, a filing or a tax authority. CitedTax does not review, sign or file anything.

Items the papers mark as requiring confirmation cannot be placed in a client report until a member of your firm marks them confirmed. The client report is your firm's document, issued under your firm's name.

  3. 3. Accuracy

The engine can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Authority changes; facts on a return may be misread; computations may rest on figures that need your correction. Every item points to the text it relies on so that you can check it.

The service is provided as is. We make no warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, and no warranty that any estimate of savings, tax or penalty in the papers will be realized.

  4. 4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the total liability of CitedTax and The Aslan Group LLC to your firm for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amounts your firm paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Neither CitedTax nor The Aslan Group LLC is liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, lost profits, or any tax, penalty or interest assessed on your firm or on any client of your firm.

  5. 5. Indemnity

Your firm will defend and indemnify CitedTax and The Aslan Group LLC against claims, losses and costs arising from your firm's use of the output, from your firm's clients, and from the documents and data your firm uploads.

  6. 7. Data handling

Identifiers are removed from documents before analysis, stored objects are encrypted with a key unique to your firm, the source PDF is deleted after extraction, and retention is short and under your firm's control. Your data is never used to train models and never shared across firms. The Security page describes each of these commitments and the subprocessors involved.

  7. 8. License, credits, pricing and refunds

The firm license is a monthly subscription, billed in advance, that covers everyone in your firm workspace. Submitting a request requires an active license or a current license waiver. Your firm may end the license at any time from the Billing page, effective at the end of the month already billed; that month is not refunded.

Requests are paid for with credits bought in advance. Credits never expire and remain in the workspace while the license is inactive. Each request states its credit cost before you submit it. Credits are non-refundable except that a request which fails on our side returns its credits to your firm automatically. Credits remaining when a firm closes its account are forfeited.

A license waiver, whether redeemed with a code or granted by CitedTax in writing, applies only to the firm account it was granted to, for the period stated when it was granted, and cannot be transferred to another firm. A waiver covers the license fee only: credits are bought as usual, and credit prices and these terms may still change with notice.

Prices may change with notice on the Pricing page. Credits already purchased keep the credit cost that applied to each request at the time it is submitted.

  8. 9. Acceptable use and suspension

Your firm will not upload data it has no right to use, will not attempt to extract the engine, its prompts, its corpus or its models, and will not use the service to harm others or to break the law. CitedTax may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

  9. 10. Changes and governing law

These terms may change. When they change in substance, a firm administrator is asked to accept the new version before the firm's next purchase or request, and continued use after acceptance is agreement to the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute is heard in the state or federal courts sitting in Florida.
